It’s another Saturday morning in the European spring and here we are, your friends at Ulti.TV, at another frisbee tournament. Last weekend was amazing, we know. The crowning of some British queens, dancing in the Moon light, gale force winds and rough Belgian weather. What a time to be alive.
Tom’s Tourney is over for another year, but the fun in 2023 is just starting! This weekend we are in sunny (please let it be sunny) Austria to bring you Vienna Spring Break. We’ll be streaming games featuring EUCF teams, national teams getting ready for EUC in July and under-24 teams getting ready for worlds in a few short weeks. What a treat!
Czech teams East Block and 3SB are the top seeds in the women’s division, but they’ll be pushed hard by home team Box, the Swiss national team, Troubles from Warsaw and British teams SYC and SCRAM, as well as everyone else in a strong field. There’s 12 teams in the women’s division and all of them will be capable of pulling an upset. There’s four pools of three that go straight into a bracket for the top two teams in each pool. Quarters take place this afternoon, semis and finals tomorrow.
The open division is really strong as well. Both 3SB and FUJ, two teams from the Czech Republic, mean that we could see both divisions won by Czech teams. They’ll be up against a litany of teams with good pedigree from across Europe - Uprising and Panthers from Poland, Italians BFD Red Bulls and Alligators, FAB from Switzerland and Austrian teams FWD, thebigEZ and Catchup are just a few of those that will be vying for the title. The structure here is the same, but with four more teams; pool games and quarters later today, semis and finals tomorrow.
And you can watch it all with us! Here’s a link for the playlist to every streamed game.
But what is there to look forward to after this fun-filled weekend in Austria, I hear you cry? Stop crying and start getting hyped for the Elite Invite in two weeks, we bellow in response! The best teams in Europe are gearing up for a showdown with six places to EUCF on offer. We’ll be there, and you’ll be getting more action than you can shake a stick at.
