European Youth Ultimate Championships 2023 live from Padova, Italy

Padova plays host to the European Youth Ultimate Championships 2023 , and the heat is stealing the show. Yes, the temperatures have been mounting all week long, so much that there is a scheduled break every day between 14-16h to avoid playing in the hottest parts of the day.

Heat is also the right word for what these youth are bringing. With each new year, the level this youth play at continues to heat up, and they will threaten to take more and more spots on open and senior age division teams after taking the big tournament experience with them back to their local clubs and national teams alike.

The tournament features 7 teams in both the mixed and women’s division, and with 12 teams in the open division, yes, 26 teams. The opening game saw host nation Italy defeat the Czechs in the women's division at the central and historical Silvio Appiani Stadium in central padova.

Since then, we’ve spent the next week in Euganeo sports complex where the tournament has churned out pool play, cross overs, and elimination games. We are now lest with the medal matches and the final placings, and for that we head back to Silvio Appiani Stadium tomorrow Saturday August 12, for the grand finals in all divisions.
