Mission 01 Update: A Weekend of Grit, Growth, and Gratitude
Not what we expected, but with a happy end
First off—thank you to the organisers, Maëva, Mattie, and Léa of allstars and their fantastic volunteers for having us (ULTI.TV). Their vision and energy brought this event to life in a fantastic way. It was dreamy, such good vibes, and the Ultimate (and dance battles) were so memorable. Check all the stories on the allstars Instagram account: instagram.com/allstarsultimate
Thank you to the great volunteers who made it all possible as well.
The allstars weekend was PERFECT, except for the promised broadcasting in the ULTI.TV Mission
We (ULTI.TV) prepped and tested everything… but as luck would have it, the motherboard in our streaming machine (the mothership) gave out at some point between prep and arrival.
Cue up a Saturday spent troubleshooting—6 hours in the car, scouring shops, and diving into the computer to get things back on track. And if that wasn’t enough, Sunday brought spotty mobile internet during the streams we did get to do.
Yours truly (Milan) takes full responsibility for the problems we had, some things could have been prevented and it apologies need to be shared:
I am sorry for not bringing the promised streams, and the expected quality to the event. This sorry extends to the organisers, donors of the mission and the broader Ultimate community and particular the women’s Division.
I live, I learn. Backup systems are a must (yes, even a whole new mothership/streaming PC as a laptop is possible!). And the Internet, learned that 4G/5G will not work in that beautiful valley. We learned that for a potential next year of streaming allstars.
For your donations, a portion will be going to the promised mission report, a mini-documentary with incredible interviews, and clips from the event. The rest of the donated funds will be put towards a complete streaming delivery next year, learning from the mistakes from year one. A further break down of this will be available in the upcoming mission report (which we will send to you when it’s done).
Thank you to our donors and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
An additional thank you for supporting this mission and furthering the visibility of the women’s division.
Here’s the good news:
We did record all Sunday’s games, and we’re still making that mission report, basically a mini documentary with the incredible interviews and clips we captured on-site.
We will share the breakdown of the impact and investments in that video, so stay tuned for the mission report—this story isn’t over yet! 🎥💚
The reuploaded games are online for you to enjoy below forever. Thank you for tuning in and supporting this mission.
