Last stop before finals: Summer Tour ☀️
After participating in Spring Tour, Elite Invite, London Invite, Tom's Tourney, Windmill, and all other tournaments this season, the final stop before EUCF is Summer Tour.
This weekend marks the final editions of the Summer Tour. Formerly known as Regionals, the Summer Tour is the last opportunity for teams to earn points and improve their rankings for the EUCF. European clubs could sign up to various events for the Summer Tour, allowing teams within any region to compete against other teams that signed up to that event. The first few Summer Tour events took place on August 3-4, and this weekend, the final games will be played in Chambéry, France; Heilbronn, Germany; Leicester, Great Britain; and Trnava, Slovakia for the Open division. The Mixed division will be held in Freiburg, Germany, and Warsaw, Poland, while the Women's division will compete in Chambéry and Trnava.
Women’s Division
Notably, most of the highly-ranked teams in the Women's division will not participate in the Summer Tour. However, 3SB and EAST BLOCK have chosen to compete. The results from these teams could lead to significant shifts in the Women's division rankings. These teams will both compete in Trnava, Slovakia.
Mixed Division
In contrast to the Women's division, nearly all top-ranked teams in the Mixed division will participate. Given the dynamic nature of this division from the start, the Summer Tour promises to be highly competitive. Some club teams might be missing players due to Worlds, which could lead to surprising results.
Open Division
The Open division will be missing the top three teams during the Summer Tour, as they are not participating. The focus will be on the teams just outside the safe bids. These teams will find out after the Summer Tour whether they have accumulated enough points to qualify for the EUCF or if their 2024 club season has come to an end.
Overall, the Summer Tour will play a crucial role in finalizing the rankings for the 2024 club season. Keeping an eye on the scores and rankings will be well worth it.
Correction about the regions in the first paragraph. It's an important distinction between the new and old systems that there are no regions in Summer Tours.
