Elite Invite, elite teams and maybe an elite revanche? 🔥
ULTI.TV packed up and heading from Bruges to the next Belgian city, Leuven, to capture the spectacle of Elite Invite.
Just recovered from Toms Tourney? Luckily, the frisbee calendar is packed with action and tournaments, with Elite Invite on the agenda this weekend. A tournament where all matches count for qualification, but what's special about this one is that you can directly qualify for EUCF and secure your spot in the tournament.
Starting with the open division, let's first look back at last weekend, specifically the final of Toms Tourney. Mooncatchers and BDF La Fotta faced off in the final, with La Fotta taking the win after the universe point. Will Moon be able to get their revenge during this tournament (when it counts, since Tom’s did not count for Moon), or will things go totally different this weekend?
In the women's division, we can't compare to last weekend. GB women and Ger women were in the final of Toms, but they're not club teams. However, JINX and ICINI are on the list for Elite Invite and have some overlapping players, but they're not the same. GRUT women’s, the third-place team from Toms, are also not at Elite Invite. Because this team is new in the women’s division, they (we, as I’m playing for them) need to qualify through another route. Also missing this weekend is Shout, the European Champion, who chose not to play Elite Invite. (Rectified, SHOUT will be there.) With this lineup, there are plenty of opportunities for other teams in the women’s division, and it's essential for some teams to perform well here.
Current standings for the WOMENS division after Spring, Vienna and Tom’s:
In the mixed division, points can be earned again since Spring Tour, with CUS Padova at number five in the rankings, followed by Mosquitos, Glasgow ultimate, Sesquidistus and Tiefseetaucher at number one. In this list only Sesquidistus is joining Elite invite. It wasn't possible for the mixed division to have matches count last weekend because Toms (and Vienna) didn't have a mixed division, so there will be important matches played in this division as well.
The EUF doubled down on ULTI.TV’s services, as we will stream TWO fields at Leuven this weekend, so here below you can already find the schedule just for Friday alone.
Above is the main field, and below we have an additional 1 camera field with remote commentary.
There will also be 2 additional fields streamed by robo cams with and without commentary.
During Elite Invite tops teams from Europe will attend, and every division promises to be a spectacle.
So get your EUCS Live pass, sit back, relax, and tune in to this weekend.
UPDATE: Thanks Ravi and Ian for the feedback, SHOUT will indeed be there.
